Hey guys,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the donations thus far. We're on track to the full amount needed and of course I'm putting in as much of my own money as I can afford.

For anyone curious, we're about 1/3 the way to the total cost of the forum. It's around $350 for the hosting and domain and we're at about $100. I'll also send a spreadsheet of all the donations received to each person that donated (via email address on the PayPal receipt) when we reach the total.

Again, this is for the forum, not for me personally. I would never ask any of you for anything if I didn't truly need it to keep this place alive.

That amount is for a two year deal. Basically, when I first signed up, I did the one year deal and halfway through, added additional bandwidth, etc. to account for more members and additional traffic we were getting, along with some other stuff that is only available with a 2 year deal so they gave it to me pro-rated as if a two year deal, but it only ran for the remainder of the year, so now that it's all being renewed, it's for the two-year hosting.

On that note, I just renewed the hosting so we're all good for the next two years, but I put up my own money for the rest of the cost, so if anyone else can spare anything to help me pay rent, I'd greatly appreciate it. I know it's a tough time for everyone right now with the economy in shambles so I thank all of you for anything you can spare.

Like I said, anyone who donates, I'll send an account of the donations so you all know I'm not just using this forum to get money for myself. I would never do that.

GoDaddy tends to be pretty reliable from what I understand. Doesn't hurt that they sponsor one of my favorite racers :pervert:

I dunno, I've heard that they're great so long as nothing goes wrong, but if anything does, their customer service is so abysmal that you're probably screwed...

Just google "Go Daddy problems" and you get lots of not so flattering results. http://nodaddy.com/ for example.

(I'm starting to make it a habit of googling "X company problems" any time I'm going to be giving money to a company I haven't dealt with before. Amazing how that tends to show you which ones just have minor issues and which ones are serious bad news.)

I've never had a problem with GoDaddy. Their customer service is great and I've never had a problem with any site I've had them host.

I donated a bit, too. I don't post a lot here, but I lurk all the time and love all the sprites and info. It's a great community, so I'd like to see it stick around.

How goes the donations? I have started this hobby over the past year and love it. I dont really have the time to post on here due to the fact im in Iraq at the moment, but when i do have the time to peek in; i really enjoy seeing everyones projects. Just let me know if you need anymore on those donations and i'll be more than glad to fix you up on that. Give me the full total you still need.

Dragon, The forum has already been paid off. I got donations for almost half the total amount and put the rest in myself so I don't need any more donations to keep things afloat, but they are always welcome from anyone who feels like it.
