How to make your own Cubee

Postby Flames2Earth on Thu Dec 11, 2008 6:06 pm

Here is the general template to make your own cubee. From here you can use whatever program fits you to start and draw out your characters. I personally use photoshop to do all my cubees, but you can really go about it any way.

I'm not too good with tutorials, so I'll just tell you how I got started. My first shot, I just took a design that was already done and manipulated it. I took Sara and Moltov from Cubeecraft.com

and took pieces I liked and threw them together. So after some copying, recoloring and drawing a few new things, I came up with Zero Suit Samus.

So at first it really was pretty much photo manipulation and thats why I was using photoshop instead of illustrator or any other painting/drawing program (with the addition that I don't understand any other program, haha). After I finished Zero Suit, I wanted to do something completely on my own, so I started off simple with my Classic Samus. I mainly used the line tool and paintbucket to put together a pretty generic figure.

And from there I just started challenging myself more and more with new characters. I gather about five to ten photos of the character, trying to get every angle I possibly could to create the cubee. My suggestion is to try and find a good action figure of the character so you can get all the angles.

Well that's basically it for how I go about it. Sorry I can't give a better detailed tutorial, but if you have any questions, please feel free to post them up or message me.
