How much floss should i buy?

Well, I'm just like trying everything i see on this board, so i want to try pixel stitching now.
I want to order dmc thread from an online store because they just sell anchor stuff for like 2 $ ea in the shops nearby.
So here's the "problem": each dmc thread's about 8 m, but for how long will this last? is it like
- i can do like 500 crosses if I always use 2 strands on 14 ct cloth.
or is it way less/more than that?

Could anyone please share his/her experience?
How many stitches can you get out of a skein of dmc floss on 18 count/14 count aida fabric?

You are totally not annoying, but I'm also not sure what to tell you. I'll take a picture and some pixel counts of something I've done & try to estimate for you, but it may be a day or two before I can. I also intend to write a tutorial one of these days.

Maybe another stitcher could tell you something more helpful...
